Declaring Important Updates

Note: If you are using Facebook Instant Article (Flex) then you should have this turned on in case you need to make a change to an asset that has already been scraped by Facebook. For more information see Facebook Instant Articles (Flex).

When a change is made to an editorial asset, the "updated" date may show on front-end asset pages. If the update is an actual change to the information in the asset then you would want to let your readers know this is an actual update. If the edit is to correct punctuation or spelling then you wouldn't want the new date to show up.

To set up Manually declare important updates:

In Application settings / Asset settings / General set the Manually declare important updates checkbox to on (checked).

Click Save.

Note: If this feature is not enabled, then all asset updates will be considered important.

To declare This update is important on an asset:

Using the dropdown arrow on Save, set This update is important to on (checked).

Click Save.
