Overview


Note: A site administrator at each company will have the power to create / delete groups, and add / remove group access for their employees. TownNews.com is not responsible for managing groups or staff access.

TownNews customers now have the ability to control the creation, modification, and deletion of groups that allow access to different software and functions in your Blox CMS admin.

TownNews has enabled a site administrator at each location. This individual will have access to ALL software and functions that the customer has purchased. This person will also have access to Community / User Accounts to grant access to other staff at their location. For more information see How do I create users in BLOX CMS? Note: The site administrator will need to ensure the person requesting certified access has an admin user account. For more information, see User Accounts Workspace (Flex) (Zen), or How do I create users in BLOX CMS? (Flex) (Zen).



INFO: TownNews creates an Administrators group automatically when a site is created. Anyone assigned to this group will have admin acces to all functions that your site has contracted for EXCEPT writing to UTL templates.

NOTE: To get added to the certified users list I need the SLA on this page downloaded so it can be signed by the person being certified AND by the Publisher: BLOX Template - SLA.

Previously groups were set up by TownNews.com to provide different access levels for admin users based on the type of jobs they might perform (such as Classifieds person, or Circulation / Subscription manager). Each group would only have access to the functions that allowed them to perform that job. If a staff member had multiple jobs on your staff they could be assigned to multiple groups.

Example: an "Editor" would have access to:

  • Design / Blocks / Full access
  • Settings / Tags / Geolocations / Full access
  • Settings / Tags / Sections / Full access
  • Settings / Tags / Keywords / Full access
  • Design / Static Pages / Full access

We presumed that anyone that was part of the "Editor" group would also need to be part of the "Moderator", "Form Manager", and "Reporter" groups.


Note: As part of the switch-over to this new process, our existing groups moved over as well. You are welcome to leave these groups in place and continue to use them, or you can create entirely groups that serve your specific purposes. In order to submit support tickets in Blox CMS, a support ticket account needs to be created in the support ticketing system.  Site contacts need to contact Customer Support to add users in the support ticketing website so they may use the ticketing system.

Ad Manager

  • Marketplace / Banner Ads / Full access (Default)
  • Full access allows you to perform any action in Marketplace / Banner Ads.

  • Analytics Only will allow you to see the Ad ID, Status, Type, Name, Impressions, Clickthrus, Start Date, Modified, and End Date for the ads. You cannot edit an ad, but you can Search for specific ads.

Ad-Owl Manager

  • Statistics / Analytics / View reports
  • View reports will allow you to view any report, create saved reports, email, print, and export reports. You cannot changed the Application settings.

The Auxiliary ID Providers list is automatically populated in each Business Listing where you can then assign a specific ID for the business.   • Marketplace / Businesses / Edit Assets
