From the dropdown in the the upper left choose Editorial / Calendar
When the application loads, you'll notice the Search utility on the far left. Next to it is the Search Results section. If you have an event you want to Import, click on the dropdown arrow on the New Event button to Import, otherwise to create a new event, click on the New Event button.
The New Event window opens up. Give the event a Title (required field). There are four fields under Title; Author, Business, Contact, and Venue. Contact and Venue are also required fields. Sample images of these four fields are in step four.
Note: If the Venue listed is a business listed in your Business Directory, it will show up on that Business' Listing under a sub-header called "Events Here." If the Business is not the Venue but is related to the Event, the Event will be listed on the Business Listing as a Sponsored Event."
Note: Any Calendar Event that is related to a Featured Business Listing will show as a link on the Business Listing when that business shows up as a part of a Business Search.
Upon clicking on the icon next to each of these fields respectively, their editing window will open. These fields can be edited the same way. You can click the dropdown arrow to fill in an existing property in your BLOX system. If not, you can manually add them here.
Next, are the three common areas (Tags, Related, Other) but Schedules was added as a required element to creating the event. To add a schedule, click on the Add button. A menu appears, select the appropriate type of schedule.
The New Schedule window opens up. Give your schedule a Name (required field). The Schedule ID will be auto-generated by the system once you click OK. Enter Start Date and Start Time (both required). Click OK when done.
Note: The Auto Stop Time checkbox, if checked, the Stop Time is set to one hour by default. Uncheck it, and you can set a different time if applicable.
Note: The Never Ends checkbox, if checked, it will set the event to never end but an Email Notification will be sent every year asking you to Confirm this event if its still a repeated on-going event. If confirmed, it will be set for another year. If not confirmed, the event will be deleted. The Daily option gives you the flexibility to set Repeat Days from everyday to every 100 days.
In BLOXCMS Admin, if you enter a date that has already past, you will get an error message.
However, if you login on the front end and use the Dashboard, this restriction is not enforced.
Under Tags, you can add in any Keywords or select a Flag. You at least need to set a section, so go to Sections and click on the Add button.
The Select Sections window will open, usually Calendar is the only section active, select it and click the Add Sections button at the bottom.
Under Related you can associate other assets to your event. Under Children Assets, click the Add button. If you want to add an event logo image, you would do it here and select Image from the Add Menu. The Image Asset window will open up.
Note: Images Assets need to be .jpg, or .png file format. BLOX CMS will NOT convert other images into these formats. Images cannot exceed 3 MB (3072 bytes) in size. They will be blocked from being uploaded.
Under Other set the Event Timezone. If you aren't ready for the event to be published yet, check the Do Not Publish checkbox. Leaving it unchecked, the event will be published upon clicking Save. You can control whether users can post comments or not about the event with the Disallow User Commenting checkbox. You can also set the Deletion Date and Time.
Once done filling in the content for the event, click on the Save button at the bottom of the editing window. If you click on the dropdown arrow on the Save button, you can click on the Save and Close option.
