NOTE: If YouTube assets are pulled in through Editorial / Syndication they will carry the description from the original YouTube video. If the YouTube video is created manually in Editorial / Assets it will NOT bring the description into Blox CMS.
You will need to be part of the Syndication Manager group.
In the upper right corner, click on the Gear icon to open the Syndication Application Settings.
In Channels, click New on the toolbar. This opens the Create Channel window.
Select the radio button for YouTube.
Channels is where you choose a content provider and input username and passwords as needed. To set up a specific channel type see the appropriate doc for that content provider:

Create a Name for the new channel.
YouTube Channel: A YouTube channel to optionally restrict this syndication channel's results to. May be specified as a YouTube username, channel ID, of the channel's URL. (Ex: channel ID: TownNewsTV channel URL: https://www.youtube.com/user/TownNewsTV) If YouTube channel is blank it will pull all YouTube content into Syndication.
Playlist: selecting Searchable Content will syndicate content in a channel which can be found through YouTube's search engine. Selecting Uploads will syndicate a chronological list of the channel's uploads. The content is not searchable.
NOTE: If your YouTube assets are more than a year old, they may not be pulled in when you set up syndication for the first time. If you have any assets older than a year that you want brought in through syndication, simply edit the information within the video to update it. Syndication will then pull in the video. Any videos marked "Private" or "Unlisted" will not syndicate.
Your publication is always able to assign or re-assign assets from any syndication source to the section(s) of your choice. To map categories for a channel, click once on the channel to highlight it, then click Category Map from the top of the Channels sub-panel. The Category map for that channel appears.
To assign a section to unmapped categories or uncategorized assets, simply click on the line to select it, then click Edit.
This opens the Select Sections window.
Assets from AP can retain their section assignments when they are imported to your site. However, if you want to change those assignments, you can create a different Category Map by selecting Add.
This brings up the Add Category Map Rules window. Select the section(s) that you want, then click Add Rules.
You also have the option to Import/Export a Category Map (Export creates the .JSON file and downloads it into your Downloads folder and Import allows you to upload a .JSON file).
Once you've made your selections, click Save and they will appear on your Category Map screen.
Note: The next step in this process is create a search of the assets you wish to publish to the front end of your site. For more information see Syndication Search terms and Saved searches (Flex) (Zen).
