From the dropdown in the the upper left choose Marketplace / Ad-Owl (Not sure how to access BLOX Applications? Click here).
When the Ad-Owl Manager opens, the default is to display the New, unapproved orders in Search results.
Double click on the order you wish to view. The order opens in a new window and provides the following pieces of information:
- Purchaser Comments
- Print Preview
- Ad Content
Ad Content displays supporting information related to the ad and has four sub-sections: Ad Text, Fields, Online Content (not present if the ad is for print only), Fields, and Upsells.
When viewing an order, three options are available from the top toolbar: View Past Actions, Approve Orders and Deny Orders.
Clicking View Past Actions displays a screen showing the entire history of the order, from when the order was placed on the front end to payment authorization to emails sent and actions taken within the BLOX CMS.
Clicking Approve Order brings up the Approve Ad Order screen. This screen lists details of the standard email which will be sent to the customer. You are able to customize the information in any of the fields simply by clicking in the field and over-writing the form text. Click Approve Ad Order when satisfied. See Step 5 for more information on what to do to print the ad or publish it online.
Clicking Deny Order brings up the Deny Ad Order screen. This screen lists details of the standard email which will be sent to the customer. You are able to customize the information in any of the fields simply by clicking in the field and over-writing the form text. Click Deny Ad Order when satisfied.
Once an ad has been approved, any monies from the ad placement are captured via your publication's Payment Handler. Further actions needed vary by whether the ad is to run in Print (5a), Online (5b), or both (5a and 5b).
Print: The process to transfer of the ad from the Ad-Owl Manager to your print publication system will differ from publication to publication. Please see your Editor for details specific to your operation.
Online: Once the Ad-Owl order for online publication is approved, BLOX will automatically create the ad within the Classified Manager. Some ad specifications and upsells will be carried over into the Classifieds, but some will need to be added or modified. All ads will need to have an appropriate category assigned, as well as at least 5 keywords added.
The following will be carried over:
- Ad text
- Start/end dates
- Location information
- Enhanced priority numbers (Upsell option)
- Flags (Upsell option)
- Keywords (Upsell option)
- Categories (Upsell option)
- Images (Upsell option - if added to the Online Content page by the consumer)
The following will not be carried over, and may need to be added manually:
- Title - BLOX will use the first line of the ad as a title
- Images - either custom or stock (if added inadvertently to only the Print Ad Content page by the consumer)
- Special styling (fonts, font size, bold, left/right/center justification, underlining)
The lists provided above are not all-inclusive. Be sure to check the ad in the Classified Manager.
BLOX CMS will automatically publish the ad at the designated start date and time, and remove the ad from the front-end at the selected end date and time.
