The release notes for the 5.28 series of BLOX Total CMS clients for Adobe InDesign and Adobe InCopy can be found here.
5.27.08-1 Released 2018.02.27
Bug Fix) We fixed a minor bug with the new document function found at BLOX Total CMS > Documents > New... If Page Tracker was active, it expected there to be Page Content Types active. This has been fixed. JIRA INDESIGN-2085
Bug Fix) The 5.27.x version of the client added a big new feature for creating new pages. There was an issue with splitting the document if multiple pages were created at the same time because no page label is placed above the page when creating using BLOX Total CMS > Documents > New... or BLOX Total CMS > Documents > New from Template > template choice. This has been fixed. JIRA INDESIGN-2090
5.27.07-1 Released 2018.02.23
Bug Fix) If a user at a site with Page Content Types creates a multi-page document and applies Page Content Types before using Split Document, the BLOX Total CMS client for Adobe InDesign will want to use the Page Content type for the document name. This has been fixed. In addition, we also added a check for the page labels to make sure that any label it attempts to use for a document name is a valid BLOX Total CMS document name according to the site's naming convention. The validation can, however, be turned off. Contact TownNews if you need this new check disabled. JIRA INDESIGN-2078.
5.27.06-1 Released 2018.02.23
Major New Feature) There is a brand new method of creating documents. Users can now choose BLOX Total CMS > Documents > New... Besides providing access to all the templates (and remembering which template is used for which publication codes), this new dialog also has a streamlined interface with more descriptive field labels. It also is constructed to make it easier to create advance pages in the same section as the user's open pages as the name filling the dialog will always match the name of the open document. The dialog also has an optional to automatically select the next available page. This is great for testing during template master work. In addition, for everyday use the dialog has access to both apply Page Content Types and place a Page Design Snippet Placement during page creation. Finally, for sites needing to make a run of pages, there is a menu for number of pages if the user is in Enhanced mode. JIRA INDESIGN-1999
5.27.04-1 Released 2018.02.13
Bug Fix) The Asset Manager in Creative Suite versions both Adobe InCopy and Adobe InDesign when running on MacOS had a bug in which when a user typed in the Search Text Field, the OK button became the focus after every key pressed. This bug was created by a change in the 5.24.02 version of the client. This bug has now been fixed. JIRA INDESIGN-2069
5.27.03-1 Released 2018.02.13
Bug Fix) An earlier version (5.25.02) failed to allow the use of .jpg images for missing ads. This has been corrected. JIRA INDESIGN-1841
Logging Change) We now clearly log the path to the open Adobe InDesign document in the process of its opening. This will aid in troubleshooting. JIRA INDESIGN-2060
5.27.02-1 Released 2018.02.08
Log Change) When MacOS users login to a domain in Adobe InDesign or Adobe InCopy we will now log which shares the users have mounted and how they are mounted. This is to help with the migration to Appliance OS 2.17.1 and later where users should be mounting using smb:// and NOT cifs://. smb:// can use SMB_3.1 on the appliance whereas cifs:// is limited to the legacy SMB_1 slower connections. JIRA INDESIGN-1954
Important New Feature) The Adobe InDesign client can now request Page Tracker to force the final process of any asset that is NOT locked by a user. To use this feature simply include in your Page Tracker output method the following:
Providing that Page Tracker on your appliance has reached version 1.5.0, then it will advance the workflow process of all unlocked assets to their respective workflow final process. This is a great speed enhancement for sites that currently use Check out All in Adobe InDesign and then in their output method. JIRA INDESIGN-2054.
5.27.01-1 Released 2018.02.07
Bug Fix) The Save as BLOX TOTAL CMS document used to produce an errant dialog when the user canceled and yet the document name was correct. This has been fixed. JIRA INDESIGN-1209
Internal Change) We no longer read ruleset files. Ruleset files haven't been used for many years, and they would take precedence when they existed. They are now ignored in all cases and the rulesets from the browser interface are always used. JIRA INDESIGN-1627.
Improvement) For years, the Split Document, function has forbidden use when assets are placed. This is still true, but now the dialog warning you of assets will list the asset's slug and page number to help you understand where the assets are placed. In addition, both the dialog and the local Translate.log file will list the document name and path of the document. JIRA INDESIGN-1863
Bug Fix) we had a site that adds random pages to use proof overset text and changes their section letter to a lowercase letter. They did this to prevent Page Tracker from getting those pages. There was a change made in version 5.20.20 of the client that allowed sites to use naming convention without section letters. That change allowed the section of the newly added page to use the section letter of the original page and that, in turn, allowed the new page to pick up ads. If the site then used Override ad info file they could remove the ads from the real page. We have changed the client code so that the new page will be considered named invalid and not pick up the ads. JIRA INDESIGN-1977
Behavior Change) If a user tries to use a BLOX CMS saved search that has been deleted from the CMS, the message returned to the user is now clear what happened. Prior to this change, the user was presented with a confusing error message. JIRA INDESIGN-2039
Improvement) Several versions back, we added a feature to the BLOX Total CMS client for Adobe InDesign and Adobe InCopy to move the dialogs left of center for users using very wide monitors. This worked great for most users, but for a couple it caused issues. Users can now disable the feature by unchecking the option at BLOX Total CMS > Options > Move dialogs left on superwide monitors. In addition it changes the calculation for how wide a superwide monitor configuration is. The ratio used to be 2:1 but it is now 3.1:1 because it excludes twin monitors with legacy ratios that really aren't superwide. JIRA INDESIGN-2050
New Feature) We have added another update function. This one allows the BLOX Total CMS clients for Adobe InDesign and Adobe InCopy to match the listed Saved Searches in the browser interface without having to log out or reset the Asset Manager. The function is BLOX Total CMS > Options > Update Saved Searches JIRA INDESIGN-2052
There was no publicly available version in the 5.26 series. That series introduced some updated communication libraries. Those items are in the 5.27.x and newer versions of the BLOX Total CMS client for Adobe InDesign and Adobe InCopy.
Details on the 5.25 version of the client can be found here.
